Seif Kousmate (b. 1988, Essaouira, Morocco) has worked on different visual projects in Africa, such as migration and the environmental consequences of climate change and globalisation. Each of his projects focuses on local social problems which he considers a priority, as they provide him with a small-scale perspective on global issues.

His recent series, Waha (2020-24) have been exhibited in many group exhibitions including Les Rencontres d’Arles, Les Rencontres de Bamako, Foam Museum, French Institute of Tangier, Bronx Documentary Art Center, Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, The Heine Onstad Triennial for Photography, Contact Photography Festival and PHotoESPAÑA. His work as a documentary photographer also received numerous nominations from organisations such as World Press Photo, National Geographic, The New York Times and Magnum.
