Marisol Mendez (b. 1991, Cochabamba, Bolivia) questions through photography the hegemonic narratives and confronts them with the friction of the heterogenous. For her, the creation of an image reveals the tensions between truth and fiction, it narrows the relationship between what a photograph creates and the (sur)real from which it comes.

Her work has been part of numerous international exhibitions and festivals such as Sharjah Biennial 15, Getxophoto, Format or Athens Photo Festival. Beyond this, her images have been published worldwide through The British Journal of Photography, Paper Journal, Balam and GUP Magazine.
