The Memory of You Still Hurts 3 July - 9 July 2021
The Memory Of You Still Hurts is the most important letter I could write to you, Dad.
This project signifies the beginning of a new path; it’s a way to end a chapter of pain that has lasted for too many years.
On December 4, 2008, my life changed.
I had to deal with parts of myself that I wish I had never discovered. And over the years, I have come to understand that these parts are related only and exclusively to you.
I tried to fight your presence with pain and anger, taking on responsibilities that were too great. We haven't had a relationship in over ten years, but every emotion that I have felt about you has become an image.
These photographs gave me the opportunity to let you know how I feel. I'm still angry with you, but I want you to know that I'm sorry– for both of us.
I want you to know that, despite everything, I love you.
