Conceptual Projects is an online platform that showcases and supports emerging photographers by promoting their work on social media. We provide a space for discussion, write about issues affecting our generation and encourage collaboration between artists, curators and writers.
Founded in 2019 and rebranded in 2023, Conceptual Projects is run by one person and aims to raise awareness of the current photography scene, while providing a platform for emerging and underrepresented voices navigating the contemporary art world.

6 Japanese Photographers beyond Daido Moriyama or Nobuyoshi Araki
Japan’s role in the history of photography is often overlooked. Perhaps this perception is because while other countries such as the US or France have been home of the most iconic photographers, Japan remained as the top producer of photographic devices, and its artists have gone relatively unnoticed.
Rediscovering some of my photobooks by Araki and Moriyama, made me realise that there is a notable void of emerging Japanese photographers. At least those born after the 1980s. Obviously there are many more world-class names beyond Moriyama and Araki who have had a great influence.
